Set a timer for 7 minutes and get this done. It doesn't have to take you a lot of time; just do some thinking now and you can relax when departure day comes!
Check with your team leader on the allowable sizes and weights. (Does your plane ticket allow a small suitcase carry-on or only a carry-on that will fit under the airplane seats?) Your plane will most likely also allow you to have a purse or briefcase or small laptop bag besides your carry-on. Again, check with your team leader for specifics to your flights.
Will you want to take a sweater/jacket so you can use as needed on the plane?
Do you want a book or something to do while you fly to fill time?
Do you need to carry a tylenol with you? Or Dramamine?
A couple of assignments ago, we packed our toiletries bag. At that time we packed medicines, but now, think about which need to be carry-on and which you could do without for several days if your luggage doesn't come with you. If you do opt to take any medicine or have a prescription that you need to take, please try to bring it in its originally labeled container. Also, if it is a prescription, it must have been prescribed with YOUR name on the label.
Is there anything that you need to take that is breakable or fragile?
Gum or candy?
Earbuds?
It's probably better to carry-on your camera or other similar items instead of checking them. You will know to be careful of your own items; a baggage handler might just be trying to get a job done!
Do you need to take any personal care items?

You may take a disposable razor or an electric razor but not a safety razor or razor blades. You may take nail clippers but if you have scissors of any type then please read the TSA's special instructions. (NOTE: you may not bring a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 cell phone on the plane)
If you are taking in your carry-on any liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes:
Get a quart-size ziploc bag and put in it any liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes. These must be in a 3.4 oz travel size or smaller. (Size restrictions do NOT apply to checked luggage.) Again, it might be good to take a quick look at the above website just to have an understanding of what they will permit. If you get a screener who is lax, you might get an item through. If you get someone who is more careful, you might have to throw away your items. Read their information.
You might want to pack a snack/lunch to along the way, depending on travel/flight times. You may carry-on a lunch; but be careful of the items listed in the above prohibited/permitted webpage. You can't bring any drink but will have to get it from the vending machine inside the secure area. You may also bring an empty water bottle and refill it once you have passed security. You can carry-on a sandwich, etc. as long as it is wrapped; you can't have unwrapped food. Also be careful on the limits for pudding, yogurt and jello-like items.
You might want to consider bringing a change of clothes in your carry-on. That way if you baggage is lost, you will have something to wear the next day until the airline delivers your suitcase.
Are there any assignments that you have not completed yet? Finish up all your packing or make a list of the last minute items that you need to pack on the night before your trip or the morning of your flight.
While you have your feet up - take a minute to read the Flying Hints page and you are now all set to have a wonderful trip.
