You might not be able to finish this assignment, but spend 5 minutes thinking through what you will want to pack in your suitcase. Some items can go in your suitcase now. Some items will have to be put on a list and packed the day before you leave. Things tend to get very busy right before a trip so spend your 5 minutes today and think through what you will wear and what extra items you need to bring along. You will be very glad you did this ahead of time so even if it seems that you are busy now, please do this. You WILL be busy the day before you leave - you CAN find 5 minutes this week!
What clothes do you need to take?
As you think about your list of which clothes you will wear each day, allow for a few surprises. Part of being on a missions trip means flexibility - either as the weather changes or as the schedule develops when you are on the field. Look at the What To Bring page for clothing suggestions.
Plan to take clothes that you can mix and match. Take 2 or 3 shirts that match with more than one pair of pants. Then you can rotate shirts/pants and have another outfit without packing extra items. I do have a washing machine, if needed, to help with lighter packing.
Clean & Repair
Just a quick minute assignment. Think about the items you might want to bring. Is there anything that needs to be cleaned or repaired: a loose button, hem, etc. Think about it now and make sure it gets on the to-do list early this week so you're not running around at the last minute. Next week will start to become hectic!
Luggage
Check with your team leader for sizes and weights of allowed baggage for your flight.
Also, you might want to put a sticker/duct tape on the side of your suitcase to make retrieval easier at the airport if you have a commonly colored/appearing suitcase.
You will want to make sure that your suitcase closes easily so that it does not pop open en route!
