Trip Homework

Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork. Seems like just a lot of busywork until something is needed - then the paperwork is a lifesaver. A quick assignment for this week: Make a copy of your originals and give them to your group leader.

Every day needs are easily available in SPS.  But constant trips to the store for forgotten items will eat into your time and add stress when you could be enjoying  your visit. Also, certain US brands might be unavailable or extremely expensive - so plan ahead if you are brand-conscious. Spend a few minutes and think through this list so that you will be prepared.

Plan ahead for when you will return. It will help you to not have remorse later when you realize that you didn't get a special picture of something or forgot to remember a gift for someone.

You might not be able to finish this assignment, but spend 5 minutes thinking through what you will want to pack in your suitcase. Some items can go in your suitcase now. Some items will have to be put on a list and packed the day before you leave. Things tend to get very busy right before a trip so spend your 5 minutes today and think through what you will wear and what extra items you need to bring along. You will be very glad you did this ahead of time so even if it seems that you are busy now, please do this. You WILL be busy the day before you leave - you CAN find 5 minutes this week!

Set a timer for 7 minutes and pack your carry-on or make a list of last minute items to put in your carry-on. Make sure that you check the TSA's website listing which items are allowed in carry-on and which items are allowed in check luggage.

You will probably be able to check in 24 hours ahead of your flight.  Is there anything else that you can do to make your flight more enjoyable? Check this page for some ideas.
